Review
Out of Stephanie's heart flows a depth of wisdom and love that inspires me as a mother and grandmother. This book is packed with Scripture, prayers for our children and real-world advice to help moms raise godly kids. "The Making Of A Mom "is a beautiful model of Titus 2 mentoring. If I could place this book in the hands of every new mother, I would.

Plus, this book is flexible enough to be used individually, in a mentoring relationship or with a group. Learn how--or help other moms learn how--to be the mother your kids need most.

"The Making of a Mom" is an exciting new book for all moms that also helps the Church put Titus 2:4-5 into action. Whether you're in the middle of motherhood, your children now have families of their own, or you're still thinking and praying about motherhood, this is the book for you!

"The Making of a Mom" addresses the dreaded word so many Christians fear: mentor. Am I good enough to mentor someone? Do I know enough Scripture? What do I have to offer? Each one of us is called to be about our Father's business making disciples. It's the reason we take breath--to see others know the Father we love. I love what God is doing through The M.O.M. Initiative and Stephanie Shott. Kudos on such a great book!
Jennifer Maggio, Author and CEO, The Life of a Single Mom Ministries
Packed with compelling stories, "The Making of a Mom" covers the full spectrum of what mothering with grace and love looks like. Not just grace for our children, but for ourselves--mothers who often take on the greatest of expectations to be the "perfect mom." Even grandmothers and mentors will find Stephanie's book an invaluable resource to encourage and inspire the mothers they are blessed to walk beside.
Dineen Miller, Author, "Not Alone", "Winning Him Without Words" and "The Soul Saver"
"The Making of a Mom" will help you evaluate how you parent and how you "want" to parent. Full of wisdom, moms can find real answers for the challenges they face today in these pages.
Arlene Pellicane, Author, "31 Days to Becoming a Happy Wife"
Where was "The Making of a Mom" when I was raising five kids? I love that Stephanie doesn't heap on a big, fat load of "if you would just be a better person, a better mother, blah, blah, blah . . ." Instead she meets a mom right where she is and lets her know she's not alone in the challenges of parenting--or in trying to encourage others in those challenges. "The Making of a Mom" helps us all chuck the guilt, understand God's deep and unshakeable love, and encourage us to pass that love along.
Rhonda Rhea, Humor Columnist, TV Host and Author of 11 Books, including "Espresso Your Faith "and" Join the Insanity"

As you pore over "The Making of a Mom", Stephanie's heartfelt words will move you. Her practical methods will help you be a better mom and mentor. Many young moms have no supportive relatives living nearby. Neighborhoods are not neighborly. It is time for the Church to be that community. We don't have to do this "mom thing" alone--let's encourage each other. We can start by reading, and then using, "The Making of a Mom."

Powerful book, for moms everywhere
By nywomen
Every mom wants to help their child plan for their life, for their future and their well being. But have you stop to think about planning for your child spiritual future? If not, now is the time to do so. Or are you a mom who wants to plan for their child's spiritual future but are not sure how to? Well the answer to both those questions are found in this book. The author of this book has laid out an easy to follow example of how to help your child go and prepare for their spiritual walk with Christ. The author does an amazing job of relating to everyday moms out there, she is open in sharing her own mothering experiences and failures and shares what and how she learned from them. She gives great biblical insight to how we can pray for our children, how we are the ones that mold and shape our kids into who they will become in the future, and she does it with pure love and kindness. This is a book that mothers to be, young mothers, older mothers and even grandmother can read and put the plans and examples into use in their daily life, to help grow and build up our future generations.

A Gift to new and seasoned mommas
By J. Sanders
If a mom ventures to pick up a book, she needs to be sure it will deliver inspiration and practical (that means "How does it look in REAL life?") help for her mothering needs. The Making of a Mom guarantees both.
Younger women I know crave the input of an older woman in their lives, a mentor, who is willing to be transparent about their own parenting journey, while offering biblical truth to make sense of it. Older women would be willing to step in as mentors, if they had a tool to guide them through the process of walking alongside younger moms. Stephanie Shott understands what it is to be the young mom, and now she's an older mom who wants to give back. The Making of a Mom is that gift to new and seasoned mommas, alike. It's a tool that will help connect partners or small groups, while giving them a resource to guide meaningful discussions and make the most of precious mom-time shared together. The Making of a Mom will help moms to become the best moms they can be.

Excellent Resource for New Moms and Mentor Moms
By Sharla Fritz
I wish I would have had "The Making of a Mom" when I was a new mother. Stephanie Shott has written a book full of warm wisdom and practical parenting advice. But her words are delivered with encouragement and full of the understanding that no one is a perfect parent.
I especially like the chapter "Speaking Words of Wisdom" which emphasizes the importance of the words we speak to our children. Shott writes, "In life, our words count. As a mom, you have the power to speak life into the little life God has given you." She goes on to give clear examples of words that speak life and words that speak death.
Now that my kids are grown, I'm anxious to use this book as I mentor other moms. The excellent questions at the end of each chapter will help to spark discussion with my mentee mom.
