Heaven up close.

I say wow a lot but at the end of tis book I have to say, WOW! This is a book for everyone. For those caring for the dying, of any age. For those who have healthy children and for those who have sick children. Fr ministers and laity alike. For those who have faith in God and a belief in heaven and for those who do not know if God exists or if there is a heaven. I cried tears of sorrow, sadness and most of all tears of JOY. joy because. This book increased my faith. WOW!

Touching Heaven - touching our hearts

I was given a copy of this book for the purpose of review. The recommendation & opinions are my own.
Leanne draws on years of working as a children's hospital chaplain to share stories of pain, disease, life, pain, surrender and death. The stories are honest yet sensitive. Your heart will be moved by each story. Your faith will be encouraged. Your eyes will be lifted.
The stories share each child's faith and experience of God & Heaven & forgiveness in the process of dying. Leanne lets each story speak for itself without commentary. Personal story is always the best teacher of life. Like Leanne, you will learn much from these children.
It would be a great book to put in your summer bag - and read whenever you get a minute. Wherever you read, you will be moved. I highly recommend this book.
If you know someone in Children's Ministry it would be a great gift. It will help them as they walk alongside church families in similar circumstances.

life-affirming

This book offers a spiritually uplifting resource for those facing the tragedy of the loss of a child as well as anyone dealing with their search for life's meaning. It is beautifully presented from the standpoint of the author, who as a young theology student, is confronted with peaceful and deeply profound experiences of children who are facing their own mortality. Although there were some tears, most of them were created from the joy and peace which was offered by these children's stories as they faced transition from this existence to another.
