Leadership principles proven to make an impact

Pat Williams has juggled with many things over the years-career, a family including 19 children(14 adopted), and most recently his physical battle with multiple myeloma- cancer of the blood and bone. The latter would not only test his physical and emotional will, but test his affections- what is truly important in his life from an eternal perspective.
Though facing an uncertain future, I believe Pat Williams has often considered the dignity of man in his relationships he has developed over the years. With over a half century of involvement in leadership, he brings to the table this book of wisdom, along with insights and model accounts of how other prominent and unassuming leaders have displayed exemplary character. In The Difference You Make author Williams reverts to his coaching style and, with full whistle in hand, leads the reader to becoming more intentional and strategic in their influence regardless of the domain in which they find themselves in.
Come on full court with Pat Williams as you learn what true love is in the acts of "mom" Burgher, and how leadership is exemplified in individuals including Tim Tebow, John Wooden, Ray Charles, and Julius Erving to name a few, and, of course, including Pat himself. The individuals mentioned throughout the book committed acts of service with no strings attached and knew the value of servanthood above selfish gain.
Whether you are in a leadership position today or not, the fact remains that no matter what, you will either make a positive or negative influence with the people you deal with on a regular basis. As you learn strategies to influence others the 3 forms of influence- servanthood, mentoring, and empowerment will be looked at, along with seven ways leadership consists of. While you also discover strategies for parenthood and Christian influence, the culmination of information will challenge you to look at your character qualities and ways of doing things and analyze how you measure up.
Though some live intentional lives each day trying to make a positive influence, I dare say many, even well meaning Christians underestimate this importance. Very good advice for everyone. Think of how many people you come in contact with in a days time.....THAT is how many chances you have to make a difference in someone's life. Easy reading. I thoroughly enjoyed the book.

best book i have read on influence

I have been reading Pat Williams books now for over 20 yrs. The influence he has had on my life is immeasurable. I have coached basketball for 21 years and i have tried to influence my players in a positive manner and what i have learned from Pat's books are a major part of what i tried to teach. Every chapter of The Difference YOU MAKe is filled with the best advice and knowledge on the subject of influence i have ever read.The chapter on Being a Christian of influence was worth the price of the book alone. The stories and examples from Pat's own life and countless others in every chapter was great.Everyone in life influences someone by their words or actions whether they know it or not. This book is a great road map for making your influence a positive one to last a lifetime.Pat's books have always inspired me and motivated me and more importantly influenced me in every aspect of my life. Im glad to hear Pat is in remission from his cancer and i pray for Him to live a long and healthy life and to continue to write books that has a positive impact on everyone who reads them.GOD BLESS YOU PAT.
