Best of the best from the best!

Janice wrote an author's note at the end of this book, sharing a bit about her real life while she was busy crafting Cassia's story. Please keep her and her family in prayer, as they have had some high hurdles lately, and her granddaughter's health is a huge concern.
That said, this book is a true labor of love. Her trademark humor and wit is evident in every chapter, but "A Bouquet of Love" packs more emotion than Janice's previous novels. I had blurry vision through many of the scenes, and my heart went out to Cassia and her siblings as they built new lives in Galveston.
Any novel that involves the Rossi clan and Bella Rossi Neeley has to involve some wackiness, and when you toss in a Greek family that resembles "My Big Fat Greek Wedding", the hilarity that ensues is laugh out loud funny. This is Janice's best book ever, and I can't wait to see what she creates next.
All I know is I want to walk the Strand, eat gyros with the Pappas bunch and try pizza from Parma John's, then take a trip up to Splendora for some catfish and sweet tea. Oh, to live in a community like this one!

Lighthearted and Lovely

In Janice Thompson's fourth novel in the Weddings by Design series, A Bouquet of Love, we meet Cassia Pappas. Poor Cassia has a problem. She calls him Babbas, and he's her father.
Niko Pappas uproots the family from Santa Cruz, California, and drops them onto the hot and humid island of Galveston, Texas. There, they are expected to work like fiends to make his sandwich shop, Super-Gyros, into the most popular eating spot on the island. Unfortunately, the Italian restaurant across the street interferes with his plans, so he goes to war with the Rossi clan, prominant in the previous books.
All Cassia wants is to return to California, open a flower shop, and get out from under her father's thumb. Then, along comes a gorgeous, half-Greek "cowboy," nurseryman (as in flowers) who may succeed in changing her mind about moving. There's no changing her mind about becoming free of her father's dominance---if she finds the courage to stand up to him. Ah, will Nikos suffer a family coup?
Written in first person, Ms. Thompson's novel is a delightful tale of what can happen when pride and competition rule someone's life. They generate tyrants who are unpleasant to live with---like Cassia's father. It also addresses the consequences that arise when people fail to stand up for themselves. God did not create us to be doormats. As Cassia says, "But the idea of doing what he tells me instead of what I want is eating me alive."
I found the romance in this book to be a little stronger than in the previous one, The Dream Dress. Like before, the chapters are headed with appealing quotes. These generally begin with "You might be Greek if ...," such as, You might be Greek if you think the intercom in Walmart is a family walkie-talkie.
This story is less about romance than family matters. Cassia's "voice" is engaging and her predicament something we can all relate to at one time or another.
Don't let the idea of Niko's bullying turn you off. I mean, how can you dislike a guy who advertises his business in a homemade superhero costume?
If you like romantic stories told in a lighthearted fashion with refreshing, sometimes off-the-wall, characters (like Niko), I believe you'll enjoy A Bouquet of Love.

Fans new and old will LOVE this new release from Thompson!
In A Bouquet of Love, our main character's, "obsession" is Judy Garland. Cassia is constantly humming a Judy Garland song or remembering a scene from a Judy Garland movie. This, of course, brought up fond memories of her movie with Fred Astaire, Easter Parade. What I particularly loved about this novel by Thompson was the fresh, outside look at the Rossi clan.
Cassia and her, fun, crazy Greek family heavily remind me of a certain Italian family I have come to love. Their quirks and traditions of course, vary from the Rossis; nevertheless, their core values are the same. In many ways I hope this is not the last book in the Weddings by Design series. I would love the chance to get to know Cassia's family better as well as spend more time with the other beloved characters we've come to know (Scarlet, Hannah, Drew, Gabi, etc.).
All in all, if you're looking for a comedy to brighten your day and a underlying message to encourage you, then this book is for you. If you haven't already done so, I highly recommend you look into Ms. Thompson's other books and series. Thompson's books repeatedly bring a smile to my face. Now I begin the wait for her next book... I recommend to readers fifteen and older. This is a "romance" novel, though in my opinion, romance is not the focus. I would like to publicly offer my sincerest apologies to Revell and Ms. Thompson for the late review. I'm coming off a long trip and I got the tour dates mixed up.
